  • Deeply divided ferns that have fruiting bodies produced on lower portions of fronds in between the pinnae
  • Sterile fronds will form a vase around the fertile fronds- hence the nickname Interrupted fern
  • Newly emerging fiddleheads are silvery-white
  • Can adapt to full sun and drier soils
